Easter Weekend Romp

Over the weekend our dear friend Courtney came to visit from Cleveland, Tennessee. She came Thursday and we spent the weekend eating, drinking, eating, chatting, eating, driving, and eating. All in all, it was a success. We were able to spend Easter with my family and Micah's family. One of the things I love about Chicago is we are less than two and a half hours from all of our families. It makes the holidays better knowing we can celebrate a little bit with everyone.

Hold it, weekend was not a complete success, we were presented with some setbacks. The two adorable dogs being lazy in the above picture managed to destroy a bag of Hershey's Kisses...foil and all. Luckily they are both decent sized dogs so we assumed they wouldn't die. However, the smaller one (Violet) definitely ate quite a bit more as we found out later Sunday as she regurgitated pile after pile of foil. I'm pretty sure she had chocolate poisoning. Think of a child on a sugar high and multiply it by 286 and that was Violet all day Sunday until she started puking her guts out. Luckily all is well now in our home. Moral of the story: have hardwood floors.
Now that the holiday (and foil) has passed and our friend is home safely, I can focus on the next thing...Micah's birthday tomorrow!! It's his golden birthday and I wanted to surprise him and get him something amazing (an acoustic guitar). Of course my plans were thwarted when he insisted the only thing he wants is money to finish his tattoo sleeve (and a new blu ray and a record and new shoes). Of course being the supportive wife, I oblige. After all, it shouldn't be about me on someone else's birthday. So Tuesday we will be perusing Amazon for blu ray deals (if you shop on Amazon, you must get Amazon Prime, we are poster children for it), and going to the local record store to find some good music.

This is Reckless Records in Wicker Park. If my husband goes missing, this is my first stop on the rescue mission.
